Q: In what areas are your services available?
A: Sacred Heart serves Douglas, Franklin, Jefferson, Johnson, Leavenworth, Miami and Wyandotte counties of northeast Kansas. Our service area also encompasses the following cities: Kansas City, Overland Park, Shawnee, Olathe, Leawood, Lenexa, Prairie Village, Mission, Merriam, Desoto, Bonner Springs, Edwardsville, Basehor, Tonganoxie, Leavenworth, Lansing, and Linwood.
Q: Who needs in-home care?
A: People who need additional help with their activities of daily living and would like to remain in their homes instead of moving into a retirement community. Family caregivers who need a break or time off from their caregiving responsibilities may also require in-home care services from time to time.
Q: How much do your home care services cost?

Q. What are my payment options for home care services?
A: Payment options also vary depending on the type of service you require. We accept insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, and private pay. To discuss which payment options apply to your specific home care needs, please contact our Kansas City office at 913.334.1058.
Q: Is your agency licensed?
A: Yes. We are also a state certified Medicare/Medicaid home health agency.
Q. Are your caregivers insured and bonded?
A: Yes, all Sacred Heart caregivers are bonded and insured. In addition, we ensure all caregivers and skilled care providers are appropriately licensed within the state of Kansas.
Q: What makes Sacred Heart Home Health Care different from other in-home care companies?

Q. What are the advantages of home health care?
A: People who are allowed to age in place or recover from surgery or an injury in the comfort of their own home see a higher quality of life, fewer hospitalizations, and quicker recovery than those in nursing homes or assisted living facilities. There’s just no place like home.
Q. Who can receive in-home health care?
A: Anyone in need of assistance with daily living activities such as cooking, cleaning, bathing and grooming, companionship, etc.
Q. Will I be able to reach a caregiver after hours? If so, how can I contact someone after hours?
A: Yes. Our caregivers are available by phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Q. How quickly can I arrange for service?
A: Services can usually be arranged within 24 – 48 hours of your in-home assessment.
Q. Do you require a commitment to a minimum of hours and days a week in order to provide care?
A: We require a minimum of 4 hours of service per week.
Q. Are your services covered by Medicare?
A: Medicare does cover some of our services, but certain conditions must be met. Please contact our Kansas City office for more information on which services can be covered by Medicare and to find out if you meet the proper conditions.
Q. Are your services available in nursing homes or assisted living facilities?
A: Yes. Our caregivers are available to assist you in your home, no matter where that home may be.
Q. What if my caregiver is sick and cannot make it to my house?
A: If your caregiver is sick, arrangements will be made for an alternate caregiver to assist you. We will do our best to ensure that your alternate caregiver is someone who meets your specific needs and personality.
Q. What kind of services do you provide?
A: Sacred Heart provides quality home health and private duty care, including: skilled nursing care, physical therapy, light housekeeping, companionship, meal preparation, transportation assistance, and much more. Q. How are your caregivers screened?
A: All our caregivers have must a national criminal background check, extensive skills and competency testing and have a minimum of one year of verified work experience in a home care setting.
Q. What kind of training do your caregivers receive?
A: Sacred Heart is a licensed home care organization and Medicare agency, and all our caregivers are, at a minimum, certified nursing assistants (CNAs) or higher. Most of our CNAs are also enrolled in nursing school. We provide in-house CPR and first aid training, and we are in the process of developing an Alzheimer’s care training program.
